RELIEF — RECOVERY — RE-ENTRY

The CPRN - Community Preparedness Response Network mission:

To conduct training and outreach to help hard-to-reach communities establish their own preparedness plan in the event of natural disasters, pandemics and other emergencies.

CPRN is not just for hurricane season. Preparedness is a year-round response.

What people say about CPRN:

“Our bureau is focused on the community and CPRN training is an important accomplishment done at the local level… We encourage it as a way to provide individuals with information to take action.”

— Dr. Sundee Winder, Executive Director, Louisiana Health and Hospitals’ Bureau of Community Preparedness

“The Community Preparedness Response Network is part of the way of life of the Chahta Tribe, to look after our members and the community at large, as well as the surrounding communities who need our help and assistance.”

Chief Warhorse, founder, CPRN-Community Preparedness Response Network

“The Chahta Tribe of the Tchefuncta Nation has been a leader in emergency preparedness before and after the devastating hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Isaac and Gustav. Under the direction of Elwin “Chief Warhorse” Gillum, the Tribe established the nation’s best comprehensive preparedness plan for low-income communities in Arkansas, Mississippi and in their home state of Louisiana.”

— Rudy Macklin, director of the Louisiana Department of Health’s Bureau of Minority Health Access

As the training closed, everyone left with a positive attitude and a positive mindset in preparing for disasters whether staying at home or leaving.”

— Geri Winzy, CPRN Team member training review
